So it is with Poe’s Pantry’s devil mix known as the Ghost Chili Margarita, an infamous drink with the contend that it is so hot, it cannot be finished without the use of heat-dulling aids. I, thoroughly representing Shatter Magazine, took this challenge this Friday to see if the drink had the kick to back up the petition.

Before tasting begins, a waiver must be signed in to alleviate Poe’s Kitchen from fault of you harming yourself in the consumption of the drink. Once the proper signatures have been put on the proper lines, the tot is prepared. It looks almost childlike, a sort of cherry red mixture served up with a lime. There are admonition signs though, including the bottle of tequila filled to the brim with malignant looking peppers used to mix the Margarita. There is also an unmarked red bottle, which squirts a thin red profitable that burns to smell, and a thin line of chili and habanero powder put on the rim in under the accustomed salt.

But it’s a challenge for a reason. I said what nearly were my last words (“I’ve always loved my mum and Big Bang Theory isn’t funny!”) and took a drink.

Ingredients 1 cup lime juice 1 cup newfangled Extract Triple Sec (McCormick) ¾ cup tequila (Cuervo) 1 ¼ cup whole lime kosher Squirrel far Preparation Instructions

Last Friday after a sustained, demanding week, Chris and I incontrovertible that Appropriate Hour at El Chile with friends would be the fully realized take out.  We occupied to attend regularly El Chile’s  Timely Hour about every Friday, but when they changed the arrangement from half-priced drinks to fitting a dollar-off, a illiberal unsatisfaction prostrate over us. Gone were the days of two margaritas for the amount of one. Alas, we still tenderness the zesty appetizers and smoky salsa, so we joined up with friends Thomas, Jamie Lee, and Jordan to get off on El Chile once again. Their Timely Hour uncommonly isn’t rotten: Monday-Friday from 5pm to close up, all sot beverages are a dollar-off, while appetizers are still half-cost.
