How many cups of cooked oatmeal does 1/4 of McCann's or other steel-cut dry oats equate to?
Question: I can find tons of conversions for rolled Quaker oats, but I feel it's a little different with the Irish steel-cut stuff. Does anyone eat this regularly? How much cooked oatmeal would I get out of 1/4 cup dry?
Answer: Blade cut oats about quadruple in size (since they can soak up 4 times their volume in brilliant) so 1/4 cup would yield about a cup of cooked oats, which is about 1 serving.
