I'M in with the inn gather. Yes, folks, good news. I’ve discovered yet another Ayrshire inn that’s on a par, perhaps even change one's mind, than reviewed gems like The Wheatsheaf Inn, The Craigie Inn, The Cochrane Inn, The Sorn Inn and The Hollybush Inn.
(Try them out and I attest to you won’t be disappointed.)
This time it’s The Old Loans Inn on the outskirts of Troon – and I’ll give someone a tongue-lashing you what – Mary and Joseph might have been a wee bit miffed when there was no room at the inn just over 2012 years ago, but they’d have been fully gutted if this joint had knocked them back.
Gold, frankincense and myrrh? Hear, at the risk of upsetting the Three Wise Men, the only gift I’ll be carrying the next however I visit The Old Loans Inn will be a big shiny Hot Plate Award.
With an unbeatable tally of 25/25, I can promise you it ticked all the right boxes.
