DAR chapter hears about care of bluebirds
The Daughters of the American Revolution Micajah Pettaway Chapter met recently in the Wiley Range in Braswell Memorial Library.
With Chaplain Pris Sykes ration, Regent Dottie Barrett opened the meeting with the DAR Ritual, American Credo, Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, U.S. and N.C. flag pledges.
Speaker Linda Go over from the Nashville-Spring Hope area spoke on her avid pleasure for bluebirds. She has bluebird houses at Nash County Agriculture Center, Autumn Take care of Nursing Home, the Nash-Rocky Mount School Supervision building and at her home.
Bluebird nests are made mostly of pine straw. Their life round goes from nest building to the fledging period.
The nesting rotate begins in April or early May with site selection, nest edifice, laying eggs and brooding continuing through July. Dates alternate due to climate and other factors.
They may lay up to six eggs per brood. Eggs hatch within 13 to 14 days after layed.
Fledging occurs 17-18 days after hatching. Some say it is as per usual complete within two hours, but her birds usually take longer.

I’m with you, heather. it is assinine and amusing. french fries are not vegetables! potatoes are vegetables and are nourishing. imo, by honesty of anything being fried, it takes it out of the sphere of being healthful, unusually something as negligible as a french fry, where there is only just any potatoe confusing to set out with.
But frying doesn’t take the nutrients out of the potatoes. I’m not saying I contrive french fries are the unbelievable’s healthiest veggie, but adding fat to veggies doesn’t somehow interval the nutrients. I’d still put a french fry in the grouping of vegetable, although they certainly aren’t the most nutrient-thick veggies out there.
But I do induce oven fries (with both Caucasian potatoes and musical potatoes) as a side at abode and I’ll sometimes ponder it our starch for the overplay, and sometimes upon it a veggie.
