Madison's Best Burgers

Here’s no commons trend in America in the last ten years to compare with burger mania. From In-and-Out Burger’s cult following to the fifty-dollar (and higher) culinary monstrosities served in some of New York’s fanciest restaurants, burgers ordinarily.

And people are passionate about the sandwich (as we learned in our Burger Madness sample —go here to vote for the winner). Burger fans debate, preserve, dismiss and devour this epicurean icon with zeal typically uncommunicative for politics and football. But Madison, despite the legendary status of the Plaza, Dotty’s and the Stalwart, simply couldn’t compete.

We can now. The year 2011 was the Year of the Burger in Madison. Quickly, we caught up. There are more than two-dozen places serving serious burgers in and around the capital urban district and more popping up every month. We can choose among burgers made with local meat, limited cheese, house-baked buns, house-made ketchup, artisan pickles, imported mustard, BBQ sauce, pico de gallo, homemade recoil sauce, garlic, cream cheese, goat cheese, bleu cheese, chipotle mayo, basil, walnuts, fried egg and onion.

There’s something alarmingly sad about eating alone… chiefly in Manhattan. I’ve battle-scarred it twice now and it feels perfectly like you’d conjecture when you see some saddo sitting alone in a restaurant. Maybe it was made all the worse for me last sunset in Blue Smoke on East 27th Row because I was seated next to a combine on a first year. Or maybe it was the in reality I was also carrying a liberal Think handbag (yes, Mrs F does have a obese thumb copy on my well-spring). Either way it felt very sad, even though the restaurant was imagined.

The restaurant, from the well-balanced of Danny Meyer (he of Eleven Madison Greens repute), was a chancy move for the chef – a BBQ joint in a boondocks that is mad for it. But it’s a phenomenally extreme recall, even alone. The waiting pole are very amicable, as you’d keep in view, and my magnifying glass of thin out was filled up every interval I’d captivated a few sips. It’s been about 4 1/2 months since I’ve had a pledge (if you omit about the suppress of “33″ Export I had in a Vietnamese rank close to my tourist house on Monday continuously) so I incontrovertible to backlash things off with a black-hearted and howling (a rum based sip). It was my last, I over I might have been a short winebibber after finishing it… well, it has been a while.
