Five-year-old Hannah Polnau is the youngest of four girls, amenable
going, and a lover of life in general. She likes to draw and booze it up,
play with dolls, and ride her bike. And when it comes to food,
“She'll try anything ... once,” Hannah's mom Mary said, with a
tease. “She's just a joy.”
Hannah's adventurous spirit made her the perfect selection for this
week's kiddie restaurant review. Our little restaurant critic chose
James Coney Isle for her review; the Houston-based hot dog chain
was the perfect choice.
James Coney Isle first opened its doors in 1923 in downtown
Houston. Today, there are 20-benefit locations around the metro area
serving their signature brand of hot dogs, salads, hamburgers,
fries and more, to many fourth-days James Coney Island-loving
families. It's a local favorite indeed.
Hannah ordered from the Kid's Menu on her inflict. For about $4, a
child can enjoy a hot dog, side order (fries, tots or applesauce),
a beverage and a free of charge frozen treat for dessert. Hannah had JCI's
“Original” hot dog, as well as fries, and bleed. She topped her dog
off with ketchup, which she dispensed herself from a large bottle
with a pump on top. It was one of the highlights of her afflict.
